Apple Cider Vinegar, Good For Your Health

Why should you use apple cider vinegar more often?

Every year, tons of apple cider would go to waste would it not be for the wonders of acidic fermentation. There are as many types of vinegar as there are fruit juices, although the apple cider and wine vinegars are used the most throughout the northern hemisphere.

After partially fermenting to become the alcohol specific to cider, the former apple juice ferments once more with different bacteria and becomes vinegar, or acetic acid.

The apple cider variety of vinegar, especially the organic and unfiltered kind, also keeps its flavor and nutritional value, vitamins and minerals from the original apple juice.

Apple cider vinegar for your health

There are many reasons why you should include apple cider vinegar in your diet. In addition to its good taste (great on any salad!), it also has health benefits.

Just imagine all of the possible combinations of veggies, fruits, nuts, apple cider vinegar and a few drops of a tasty oil.

If you know your blood sugar levels vary, it's a good idea to drink a mix of water and two tablespoons apple cider vinegar either before your meal or before going to bed. It has been proven that vinegar helps control blood sugar levels, even in people with type II diabetes.

If you have diabetes, it is important to talk to your doctor before starting any diet, especially one based on apple cider vinegar. It will only be beneficial to you if you keep every other aspect of your diet under control.

It is also said that one or two tablespoons with water will help with weight loss. It promotes satiety (your stomach feeling full) so you eat less.

Still, adding it to your diet without changing anything else will not make you lose much weight. It is much more useful to cut down portion sizes and add the vinegar to your salads.

Other uses of apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has been used for centuries and it has several applications around the house and for personal grooming.

In isolated communities, it is still used as a cleaning agent for sanitary objects in the house, killing bacteria and fungi through its high acetic acid concentration.

In those communities, it is also used instead of shampoo to clean the scalp. That is the reason why it has been advertised as a good treatment for dandruff.

Its high content of acetic acid is also beneficial for getting rid of fungal infections, such as Candida, in the case of denture stomatitis. It's a natural alternative to fungal medication for those suffering from this affliction.

Now that you have discovered the many uses of apple cider vinegar, make sure to keep a bottle close, it will come in handy in no time!
