Are you looking for an effective and easy means of losing weight? Your search is over! Research has discovered a secret way to lose weight naturally.
If you are unhappy and overweight, then you are just one of the millions of adults worldwide suffering from the same problem. Obesity is a global concern. As a matter of fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) revealed that in 2014, 1.9 billion people were overweight and out of that number, 600 million were categorized as obese.
Researchers all over the world have conducted experiments to determine the best method of preventing obesity. But, the most interesting one was accomplished by researchers from Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences in Iran. The results show that achieving the normal BMI (Body Mass Index) is possible with the help of a common ingredient in the kitchen – cumin!
The study’s participants included 100 women who aged between 20 and 60. It was made sure that those who participated in the research were not involved into drug consumption and never had diseases. They had stable weight and were healthy.
The experiment was conducted over the course of three months. During the experimental period, the participants were randomly provided with two servings daily of 150 ml of low-fat yogurt and three grams of the cumin powder (150 ml of yogurt and 1.5 grams cumin powder two times a day). They also had a reduced-calorie diet (500 kcal per person).
Each person was guided and supervised accordingly. The two groups had no significant differences in terms of BMI, weight, and cholesterol levels. Despite the fact that only 88 respondents saw the study through (12 left), the results were still reliable. The study revealed that there was a greater loss of weight in the participants who regularly consumed 3 grams of cumin powder. They lost 6.2 kg while the average is only 4.2 kg. There was also a reduction of their muscular mass of about 0.04 kg versus the control group’s 0.34 kg. Their fat mass decreased by about 5.5 kg while the control group just lost 3.75 kg.
Moreover, cumin reduced the participants’ cholesterol levels. Accordingly, the LDL-c (Low Density Lipoproteins – referred to as "bad" cholesterol) was lessened by 7.2% while increasing the HDL-c (High Density Lipoproteins - "good" cholesterol) by about 3.4%. On the other hand, the control group’s cholesterol levels had just reduced by about 4%. Their LDL-c even heightened by 2% while HDL-c reduced by 0.3%.
Are you convinced? Now you know that keeping your body healthy with proper cholesterol levels doesn’t need to be expensive and stressful. With cumin, you are not just adding taste to your meal, but you’re helping yourself avoid obesity.
